As you can see, things have fallen off a cliff here. Kenny and I have been swamped with work and bills, and haven't had much time for the strip... ah well. we'll pick things up when we can. just cant afford to make hard sacrifices for our little hobby. see you around folks, and thanks for reading!

#016 The End?

Better late than never! Here you go, the conclusion to the giant robot story, or is it? I don’t think this will be the last we see of Boom and his new toy from outer space.

I would like to mention that 2/15 was Levi’s birthday, and to wish him a happy trip around the sun. I hope things keep going well for you brother. Well It’s late and time for me to go, but this being the first week of the mid-week update I will talk with you then.

A bit backed up...

Clearly, we did not make our update today, but it's in the works. Seriously, like tomorrow.

Lots of reasons why we didn't make the schedule, all them to do with the Artist (me) and the wonderful challenges of daily life, but no excuses.

We keep promising that we have lots planned for this strip, and we do, just to give you a peek behind the curtain.

#015 Giant Robot!

Dam, another last minute comic. Our personal lives are calming down a little bit, and now we can get a few strips ahead. This weeks strip is the last one that Levi plotted out before I jumped back on board, so next week will be the first strip that we worked on together. I’m also putting the finishing touches on the first story line in the mid-week update. It should start going up the week of 2/20. Well it’s time for me to go true believer, I have to go pick Batman up at the bus station.

#014 Got Wood?

With the move over to Artistic Tattoo It has been a crazy week, and it looks like it will be one for Stinky & Tom also. Is that a foot or a gun? What could be going on in there? The good news is, next week we will  get to see what Boom has been up to! So don't forget to tune in for the final installment of the "Special Delivery" story line.

I can finally talk a little bit about what we have in the works, and it has been killing me. The big news is we have been working on more content for you. There is a huge catalog of work we have done in the past with this cast, So Levi & I have been digging through a bunch of stuff, and very shortly I will begin posting it up here for all of you to see. Yep that's right, more comics for you to read!

#013 Do Not Disturb

It seems Boom is up to something, hope it does not cause to much trouble for Tom. Can't wait to find out what it is.

Week number three, and another new comic. Levi & I are both overwhelmed by the response that we have gotten for the comic. We are glad to see that people are enjoying what we are doing. I'm really excited about some of the story lines we got coming. There are some very exciting things coming up. 

#012 What's In The Box?

Wow, What a crazy couple of days. Sorry about the strip being posted a little late today, but after the crazy party we had for Liberty's 1st birthday, Levi & I both where exhausted. Anyway enough about that, Here is the second strip Levi had plotted out before I jumped back on. I can't wait to find out what Boom ordered off the internet.

#011 Special Delivery

Here it is! The First strip from both Kenny and I! I had scripted a bunch of strips out before Kenny jumped back in, so we're going to finish those out and then get to the stuff we've been writing since last week. We've got some great stuff lined up, We really hope you will agree!

Having a partner on this is going to make things so much easier, and timely too! So it's time to get back to work and out of your way!

Previously in Slight of Mind

More than ten years ago the Creators of Sleight of Mind struggled to create a comic, with partially finished stories and books. After a few years, they got their act together and published Simple #1. Although the book was good, it lacked the true spirit of the characters. After two years of talking about #2 it was put on the shelf. Then, after a bull-shitting session at the bar the creators decided on a format change and to bring the comic back to its roots. After months of work, many chickens sacrificed, and the enslaving and eventual liberation of an entire robot society, the reincarnation of Simple is now here with Slight Of Mind.

"What happened?"

So, Kenny Puckett has rejoined me in producing this webcomic. He has been involved in this project since the beginning, like in '94-'95 when I first created Stinky and Tom and got them in our high school paper. (and a pic to show that off)

Newsprint doesn't not age well, yet looks better than the art that's printed on it.

So we're working on this shit in regular way, updates will be on Mondays and a new strip goes up this next week, and we'll see how we do keeping this thing going weekly. (it isn't easy, but damn it's fun) we already have a TON of ideas that should keep us busy! Bringing Kenny back on board what what the whole operation was missing.

We're excited to get this thing going, the way it was always intended to be!

Much Needed Redesign...

This Sunday I will put up the new title head and backgrounds for this page, make it more "Comic". IT just looks too blah and generic for me.

This is the first of the new, new strips that will be going up. all of the strips before this had been previously posted on my Inkworks blog, before being taken down and moved here.

So this is the point that it gets real for me, I have a couple more strips in the pipe, but lost my 5-6 strip "lead" due to life circumstances that always get in the way of this kind of work. We'll see how I do. If I can keep this up a couple months with the weekly update, then I'll try to go biweekly. But we'll see. No illusions.

I was supposed to put this up last thursday.... Anyway, here it is now.
Got some new stuff I might wedge in here between the regularly scheduled content soon.

001: The Begining

I am reposting the first 8 strips before adding new stuff here to the dedicated Sleight of Mind blog page. I will be keeping the update schedule at weekly on Thursdays, so check back here next week for the next strip.

A bit of background: I have wanted to work on a comic strip for years, starting "Stinky and Tom" in Highschool, and adding Boom to the line up in Art school. I never really had the discipline to keep up with something as demanding as a weekly strip, and realized that while in Montana, where I submitted my strip idea to my hometown newspaper, the Enterprise in Livingston. A friend of Mine Kenny Puckett had been working with me on this project and we put together lots of ideas and half done comic bits, as well as a Simple comic. Simple being the original title of the Comic when we were trying to make it into a mini pamphlet comic. Through the years we redefined the characters, hoping to make them more mainstream, which just took the fun out of the characters and  loimited our ability to write them as we knew them. This version of their illustrated lives however is back to the core of the characters, whether anyone likes them or not.

Many years later, and a few careers in between I am going back to my roots, and my true passion for making comics, and especially a comic strip. And have been able to produce enough strips to get some momentum going as well as a lead on my publishing schedule.
